About Karissa Ellis

Karissa Ellis

I graduated from Kountze High School in 2008 and from Lamar University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I am certified to teach English Language Arts and Reading grades 8-12, Core Subjects grades 4-8, and English as a Second Language grades 4-12.

Teaching Career

I began my teaching career at Silsbee High School where I taught English II, English III, Pre-AP English I, and Pre-AP English II. I then moved to Port Neches-Groves High School to teach English I. I then came to Kountze Intermediate to teach 4th grade. After KIS, I moved to Warren Elementary and taught 5th grade. I then decided high school was where I wanted to be. I moved up to Warren High School to teach English I. I came to KHS in 2021 to teach English II and English II Honors.

I have been married to my husband, Tucker, since 2013. We have one son, Jase, that attends Kountze ISD. We also have three other “kids”: two dogs (Sarge and Peanut) and a cat (Orbit).

I love to spend time with my family, read, and listen to true crime podcasts. Together, my family and I love to travel and attend Houston Astros games.
